Handwashing Station for rent in the Orlando area

Goes beside the units

Portable hand-wash stations with fresh water and foot pumps

A free-standing pedestal sink with two basins, foot pumps, a fresh-water tank and a separate gray-water tank. It stands to the side of a run of units, never in front of a door, and it is the piece food events and inspections ask about first.

The detail

Three things worth knowing

1

What is on it

Two basins with foot-operated pumps so nothing is touched by hand, soap dispensers, a paper-towel holder and a waste bin. Fresh water is carried in a tank underneath and used water drains to a separate sealed tank, so no plumbing or hose is involved.

2

Where it belongs

To the side of the units, at the end of the bank, with room for two people to stand and reach the pumps without blocking the doors. At a food event it goes near the vendor line as well, because handlers need one within easy reach of where they work.

3

Who has to have one

Food-service events are the usual case — health inspectors expect hand-wash provision for anyone handling food. Job sites with a lunch trailer, sites doing dusty or dirty work, and anything running long enough that people eat on site all benefit whether or not it is required.

About the handwashing station

How many people does one station serve?

Two basins keep up with roughly 100 people over an event afternoon. Food events run through water faster, so if vendors are the main users, plan one station for the vendor line and a second for guests rather than making both share.

Does it need a hose or a drain?

No. Fresh water sits in a tank on the station and used water goes into a sealed gray tank underneath, both handled on the service visit. That is why it can stand in the middle of a field or on a closed street with nothing run to it.

Can it be set up in front of the toilets?

We deliberately do not. A sink parked in front of a door blocks the door and turns the line into a knot. It goes beside the run — at the end, or set off to one side — so people step out of a unit and reach the basins without crossing anyone else.

What about hot water?

The standard station runs cold fresh water with soap, which is what the usual requirement asks for. If your event has a specific hot-water condition attached to a permit, say so on the call and we will tell you honestly whether we can meet it.
